Below I'll be sharing links to albums, songs, or videos so you can check out the songs ahead of time.
Fun and Simple Song Ideas

You can take the words and make a pocket chart activity for it, too!
Pop Bang Crack Christmas Cracker from Little Action Kids
The words to this Christmas song are super simple, making it easy for the preschoolers to learn.
I think this Christmas song would be great if you're teaching a "Christmas Around the World" theme!
5 Gingerbread Men from the Kiboomers
If you like to read stories about the gingerbread man around Christmas, add this song to your collection.
The kids can work on counting backwards, as well as rhyming words.
Hello, Reindeer from Super Simple Songs
This is an incredibly easy song, and I think it would be just right for young preschoolers putting on their first holiday play!
Shapes on the Christmas Tree from The Kiboomers
Add some math to your preschool Christmas songs with this one.
I can see using this song during circle time, asking the children to draw the shapes on the floor in front of them. Or turn it into a felt board activity!

Sweet and simple movement song that's just right for preschoolers.
It keeps the kids engaged by changing up the pacing of the song, and I'm sure you can add your own twist to it too.
Ring Christmas Bells from The Kiboomers
You'll likely recognize the base music to this one – "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain."
This song would pair really well with children holding jingle bells, either at circle time or during a holiday show.

What a sweet fingerplay to share with your students.
This would be great paired with some Christmas-themed finger puppets.
We're Going on a Santa Hunt from The Kiboomers
I don't know about you, but I love singing any of the "going on a . . . hunt" song with the kids!
So I couldn't put together a list of Christmas preschool songs and not include this.
10 Little Elves from Super Simple Songs
Another counting song to add to your collection of Christmas preschool songs!
Plus, this is one the younger kids can easily keep up with. And it's set to a common tune, making it even easier to remember.
Jingle Bell Opposites from The Kiboomers
A simpler, but just as fun, version of "Jingle Bells" for your students. If they're super familiar with the original, this one might be a little confusing to them.
Otherwise, I'm sure it will be a fun song to sing and move to. I love the inclusion of opposites, too. Hand the kids some bells and get singing!
Classic Christmas Songs for Kids
Of course, we cannot forget the classics, can we?!
Some of these songs might be a bit long or intricate for the kids to memorize for a performance. That all depends on your students' ages, abilities, and preferences.
Either way, these songs are just plain fun to sing with the preschoolers. Which one is your favorite?

Up on the Housetop
As a child, I remember getting so confused over the line, "Up on the housetop reindeer pause" . . . but maybe that's just me?
Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer
There's no way to have a set of classic Christmas preschool songs without ol' Rudolph!
Jingle Bells
I love this way of teaching the kids how to sing "Jingle Bells!" Preschoolers do really well with the "learn it and sing it" technique seen here.
12 Days of Christmas
Yes, this one is a bit long. But it's definitely a classic Christmas song you can use with your children.
Add in some number cards and some pictures to illustrate each stage of the song. Then let the kids sequence and play as they listen.
More Traditional Songs
There are so many wonderful Christmas songs out there for your preschoolers to enjoy.
I thought I'd share a list of a few albums that have many of the "classics" on them.
That way you can take a peek and choose some for your own classroom:
- Cedarmont Kids' Christmas Carols
- Bing Crosby's White Christmas
- Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song
- The Essential Now That's What I Call Christmas
More Favorite Albums
I know, I know. Not everyone uses CDs or albums anymore.
If you prefer streaming your classroom music, you can very likely add these albums or songs to your favorite streaming platform.
Of course, if you also use CDs in the classroom, these are available in that format too!
Some of these songs are great for background music in the classroom, or simply singing during circle time.
Raffi's Christmas Album
Maybe this highlights my age, but I adore Raffi's Christmas Album!
I've had it for years and years – almost as long as I've been teaching, I think. Every kindergartner and preschooler I've played it for has loved it.
One of our favorite songs from the album is Must Be Santa. You definitely need to take a listen!
We've used this one during a Christmas show for parents in the past.
John Denver and the Muppets
Again, I may very well be dating myself here. I grew up listening to John Denver and the Muppets around Christmas.
So of course I've played many of the songs to my students. And despite the age of the album, the kids definitely enjoyed it!
"Twelve Days of Christmas" is a child favorite. Probably because Miss Piggy gets a little goofy during the song. It surely deserves a place on your list of Christmas preschool songs.
A Charlie Brown Christmas
I feel like this one is just a classic, plain and simple. You can grab the streaming version (it's free if you have Prime) or the CD version.
Sweet music, most of which is instrumental. It's great to have on during center time or when working on some Christmas projects with your preschoolers.
Rudolph, Frosty, and Friends' Favorite Christmas Songs
Children who love the classic Burl Ives Christmas movies will definitely get a kick out of this album.
It has Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer by Burl Ives, Frosty the Snowman by Jimmy Durante, and 11 other songs to sing along to.
